Anyone with half a brain will know it's better to refrain

From betting on the way the dice will fall

So why's it often seem to be, confronted by complexity

The future's vision holds us in its thrall

The random mix of human minds, chaotic unrefined,

Are never going to make a pathway clear

The only thing that's sure at all is everything in life's a call

Of that you can be be certain, never fear.

Yet who do the people trust

Which charismatic leaders

Whose thoughts upon us all are thrust

With glowing certainty

The arrogant, the vain, the smug

The egocentric breeders

Those who suckled on the jug

Of self-seeking vanity

The trouble with reality, it complicates causality

Its hard to get to the crux

However much you clarify, the truth quite often passes by

Reason can get lost in the flux

Some will just say c'est la vie

That's how it is, how it will be

Some things we can't comprehend

Just try to make the best of it

It's maybe good as it will get

It'll sort itself out in the end

Yet all life can't be laissez faire

Decisions must be made

Then those who for the future dare

Opinion can sway

But please beware when you hear

A simple stirring song

If you are told an answer clear

The chances are it's wrong
